Sunday Poetry Series

Some might not call this poetry but....I do.

Today we have a little piece of advice on how to create a better world.

"The thought manifests as the word:
The word manifests as the deed:
The deed develops into habit:
And habit hardens into character.
So watch the thought and its ways with care,
And let it spring from love
Born out of concern for all beings.”
-Buddha
A bonus quote for social conservatives, maybe this will help...
“A great many people think they are thinking when they are just rearranging their prejudices.”
-William James
And then there are the deep thoughts of Sarah Palin..."our next door neighbors are foreign countries"
wow.

Yep...All the great ones were progressive.

loved the William James quote. From the outside of USA politics, it actually seems like both sides are doing exactly this.

Greetings Jenny,

Here is another of my favorite quotes...is has to do with being able to tell if you are doing just that or not.

"If your morals make you dreary, depend upon it they are wrong. I do not say "give them up," for they may be all you have; but conceal them like a vice, lest they should spoil the lives of better and simpler people."
Robert Louis Stevenson

I do not ask that the conservative be progressive, I only ask that they simply choose their own path and allow others to do the same. I have no need to tell another how they should live their own life but I will not tolerate being told how I will live mine. And no, I do not see that as a prejudice.

Thanks for reading and for taking the time to comment!
