And what a lovely day it has been.
My day started with my alarm going off as usual for a Thursday at 6 a.m.
Not so much fun.
But then, as is our custom, and the only way I know to make getting up while it is still dark outside bearable, we cuddle for at least one or maybe two cycles of the snooze button and this morning it came with the sweetest "Happy Birthday, honey" I think I ever heard. Call me a sentimental fool, but there just is not much better in this world than having someone who truly loves you and knows how to show it with absolute fearlessness.
Then it is off to work. One of my co-workers brought in an assortment of goodies, including do-nuts from my favorite little bakery, especially for my birthday. Now that was really, really nice and it made my day at work.
My sweetie showed up to take me to lunch and since it was my birthday I even got to go home early while my co-workers handled the last few patients.
More birthday festivities ensued this evening with a little trip to Hot Springs N.C. for a lovely steak dinner at the Paddler's Pub and a long, luxurious couple of hours in a natural hot springs tub at the Hot Springs Spa and Resort along the banks of the French Broad river (pictured). I won't go into the details on the rest of the evening but it has all left me fabulously exhausted and my Soul so very happy to have a body with which to soak up all this love.
My girl will also turn 47 in approximately 48 hours from now... we were born two days apart way back in 1961.
47...I think it is going to be a very good year for us.
Peace y'all

Happy, belated!, birthday!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your birthday! As I get older, I'm learning to enjoy every minute of mine. In fact, I'm considering celebrating the entire month of August! :-)
Ya' kid ya'. I've been 47 for over two months now. Live while you can - two months from now, well, you never know!
Happy BIRTHDAY, my friend.
